London fashion week

Over London fashion week Tape hosted the Julien MacDonald after party following his show. The designer’s seductive collection this SS17 was modelled by super star Haley Baldwin who stole the show in two stunning silver tassel creations – Hayley later went on to party at Tape with Bella Hadid, Jourdan Dunn and Winnie Harlow. Prior to the MacDonald party, the club’s initial fashion week event opened with NOTION magazine and K-SWISS. NOTION booked a line-up of emerging grime acts that included Geko, MAAD, Che Lingo and K-SWISS gifted artists at the event with shoes from their latest collection. Spindle magazine also hosted an event with WMA which saw great performances from Ariana and the Rose and Ady Suleiman.

A series of incredible nights took place to celebrate Tape’s birthday. There was a Dom Perignon Lounge at Little Tape one night and great new cocktails were served from Tape’s new cocktail list devised by head barman Rosco. Resident DJs played hip-hop, house and dance tracks to packed dancefloors and the parties continued until the early hours of the morning. There was even a huge, impressive, grand piano ice sculpture one Friday at Little Tape and a cake to mark the birthday!

Craig David performed twice at the venue last week, on Thursday for a private album launch and on Friday for a Capital Xtra live broadcast in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise. The artist scored his first number one UK album in 16 years with ‘Following My Intuition’. Craig has stated, “The last Number 1 I had was with ‘Born To Do It’ 16 years ago so to have another and to share it with so many amazing people - it’s surreal,” he said. “I’m seeing two generations connecting – the people who have been with me since 1999 and the crew who are just discovering me, both connecting on the same music, it’s the most amazing feeling. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I don’t know what’s going on right now!”

The boys from New York are known for their own releases on labels such as Kitsuné, Big Beat Records, Neon Gold, Atlantic Records and various DJs’ set lists.
